I have only been recently aware one does not require a visa when travelling through Cathay Flights or through Dragon Air. 

However, My problem is I am transferring to Nepal airlines from Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong on my 2nd leg towards Kathmandu since I did not want to stop over in Dhaka for an hour.

 Apparently, they have different rules for non- Cathay Pacific fliers of Nepali Passport holder, and require a visa even when remaining inside the terminal.

There in the trouble lies, my friend.
