This is bullshyt..most small business owners make at least 7000 a month. i used to run a small convenient store, 3 in a US city like three times smaller than boston, no gas and easily making 6 to 8 k a month depending on the season. if someone is making 1500 from a business in boston , then they need to shut down their business and  go work in a call center or Indian restaurant, they'll make more. you guys are ready to use all kinda logic and reasoning to prove your invalid point, which is real sad.
Also, it's not easy to find professional job or open gas station just like that in the USA. you need papers. and you may see some crook Nepalis and internationals making papers cheating the system, but not everyone can do that, most students have conscience and they just can't do it, or they don't get a real chance. lots of Nepali professional workers worry about getting laid off and losing their h1b, or pending I485 process, which is like living in a constant fear for like 6 years , plus at least 4 years of schooling , so like 10 years, at least and let's say if everything goes well. then one fine day you will walk around the corner happily holding your green card and some ignorant comes and calls you a "sand nigger". and you go like hey i'm not even arabic. but the dumbos don't know where nepal is , for them everyone with dark skin is a sand nigger. yup, then you'll realize that it wasn't even worthing spending your prime time chasing for something which could never be yours.
Nepali students just don't have any options. It's like they get punished for one mistake they made in their life, that is to come here as students hoping to self finance. and if someone's going to say well then they should go back, then let me tell you it's easier to die then to go back to Nepal without accomplishing anything. coming to america is not like running to kfc. it takes years of savings and borrowing from a average Nepali family to send their children. it's a one way street for most Nepali families. Only cure , i see is to stay in Nepal and try to be creative. you can eat better food, have social life and when you walk down the street you can walk with dignity.
