    Guys,

His name is Bodh Raj Paudel, no idea which part of Nepal he is from. He said to be chief engineer in Nepal and moved to London in dependent VISA to his wife who was doing her Ph D. Everything seems and looks marvellous as it should be at the beginning since families moved from most poor and troublesome country of the world to most developed, rich country in the world. Of course it is many people’s dream to be in rich country for better life as it looks so appealing, lovely, smooth, beautiful, easy and cuddly thanks to MTV culture for all this impression. Many well-wishers in Nepal are proud to say that their loved one is now moved to London and many enemies has their face down feeling they have been let down by their luck because they think they should have been in London instead.

While Glorification and grief in two side continuing in Nepal, honeymoon period in this dreamland didn’t last long for immigrant couple. Things started to fade quickly as dreamland didn’t offered much opportunity pushing them to accept what comes on the table. Wife was doing her Ph D so family was depended mainly on husband’s income to accommodate themselves. Chief engineer now applied for job but as usual, like it happened to every migrant people, application was turn down with the usual reason that either you are too qualified for this job, or you do not have European experience. For migrant people this is a dreamland where if you don’t make money you have no alternative option than dying. So to survive people have to jump into any job they find consequently having frustration, stress and humiliation. On the top being Nepali we have extra pride of having and sticking with better job else remain unemployed. This Nepalese option and pride didn’t work in dreamland as dreamland only offer better life if you work anywhere rather than being unemployed. Chief engineer finally accepted the fact and since he was turn down for better job, he started to work alongside many immigrant workers. But this is where he suffered from humiliation. He could not go back to Nepal as it was matter of shame neither he enjoyed life in the UK. He felt trapped like many immigrants does, however one unexpected decision he made unlike others was to terminate his life ending the suffering and frustration. So he took blade at 3 AM on 9th of July 2007 while wife and his 15 year old son were sleeping and slit his throat while sitting in sofa. There is report that when he fell down to floor wife got up and tried to open door to ask help from next door but Mr Paudel got up and stop wife to go outside until he lost enough blood to become unconscious. He was hospitalised and pronounced dead two days later. His 15 year old son said to be a prodigy and has topped school in London even though he was recently brought to UK from Nepal. Mr Paudel’s wife and son have gone to Nepal to do his final ritual. Mr Paudel, though chief engineer and intelligent Nepalese, finally saw no exist other than suicide, leaving his brave wife and son alone. He could have learnt from wife and son that life mean struggle, keep struggling and learn to enjoy life. But that didn’t happened. Once again, another educated intelligent Nepalese has been ambushed in this superficial world. This is the fact of western life.

We all are cowardly who runaway from country to escape the trouble there. If we all have guts to face the challenge, our country would be much better than now.

PS: There is different underground rumour going on at the moment in Nepalese community linking to his death. I do not want to highlight that here because I am not sure if that’s the fact.
