How do you define being a Nepalese

Did you forget what you learned about the ethnic and cultural diversity of Nepal??

Or didn't you go to school at all?

Anybody who comes from any one the 14 zones (75 districts) of Nepal are Nepalese people.
It doesn't matter if you can speak "Nepali" fluently, or understand it.
Nepal as a country- is a fusion of all those ethnic, cultural, lingual and religious diversities.
Sadly, people want to separate and establish their own states based on these very identities.
Such a division only strengthens the differences, and similarities fall into shadow.
How can we be stronger and prosperous when we are divided? We will not.

Look at all the developed countries. Their people come from so many countries and follow so many traditions, cultures. Yet, when it comes to national unity, they are aware and capable to realizing the importance of what they have in common instead of what they have different.

Look at America itself. The Confederate South wanted to divide America because they wanted to keep black slaves. But when they lost, the slaves were free. It's citizens were granted equal rights and opportunities regardless of their color, race, sex, national origin etc. America's citizens come from almost every other country in the world. Yet, they understand what they have in common.

In contrast, stupid, vision-less Nepali leaders are taking advantage of illiteracy and ignorance of Nepalese people. They don't want the Nepalese to understand the facts that prosperity lies in unity. Because of people unite, they cannot lead a mob, get into power.

Nepalese people need to understand that-
all of them want-
1. to lead a good life.
2. access to better health, security and job opportunities.
3. good education for their children.
4. prosperous future of their children.

Now if you have all these common goals for life, how stupid it is to think you will get them by creating ethnic, lingual, religious, boundaries and promoting differences.

The better way to achieve these goals for all instead is by eliminating these boundaries, promoting belongingness and creating a homogeneous society. It might take some time to create a "perfect" society, there are no perfect societies in the world; but we can always create a better society. In contrast, we will never be able to create a better society by building walls between ourselves.

If you cannot find a way to live together and work together within this small country, how will you be able to live in harmony with the rest of world by creating your lingual, ethnic state? The only thing you will get form such division is struggle of power with such groups.

God bless!
