With Polanski's roots in Poland and acquired citizenship of France, the French Govt heavily influenced by powerful Jewish politicians, President Sarkozy to name one, both countries are trying to have Polanski released. Besides, it seems both France and Poland have no extradition treaty with the US.
What really crosses the line is when the Hollywood power players rally together to support this child-raping fugitive. These people have the social responsibility to show victory of the good and vanquishment of the bad in their movies. Yet they show up in defiance of it when one of their own is running the gauntlet with the law.
Don't forget our very own Ajay Dev who was sentenced to 350 years in confinement for a similar charge in the State of California which has a mind-boggling annual budget of 10.3 Billion dollars for its Dept of Corrections and Rehab.
I guess all I am trying to convey is when all cases are dealt with consistency then it will help in restoring the faith in the system.
In the meantime, though you and I may not be able to influence the whole drama much outright, why don't we at least have a little fun with it.
Having fled the US while on bail on child-rape charges, Polanski tries to post bail again so publicly? Who is he trying to kid? Nice try, eh!
