Snowfed_river,

Now you sound like a rational human being. I am glad that you did not start off by name calling.

Let us get back into our discussion now.

Please let me know where, to put it into your words,  I am "stretching a bit".

I don't think I have mentioned anything about bragging and exaggerating in my previous arguments. Would you care to explain what you mean by "we" in the context of bragging? Do you mean Nepalis? Because if that is the case then I would have to tell you that I do not know of any civilization or culture that does not have people who don't brag and exaggerate. You can not generalize a nationality or an ethnic group based on your experiences with some people. That kind of behavior is called "stereotyping" and it has never helped anybody.

And yeah.. May be you should go to top Universities to meet inspirational Nepalis.

I again fail to understand where  Mahavir Pun comes from. I thought before this we were arguing about Prominent Nepalis in the field of Molecular Biology. You seem to have shifted gears and moved towards people that are working towards developing Nepal but I don't think I have talked anything about development of Nepal nor have I asked you to salute anyone. However, I should tell you that you can not completely ignore the contribution of these great scientists because they do a lot to introduce Nepal and our culture to the rest of the world. I feel that Dr. Uttam Lal Rajbhandary's fame has helped Nepal's fame as well.

I am very pleased to know that you are working towards upliftment of livelihood of one impoverished community. But again, I don't know how that relates with our argument of Nepalis in the field of Molecular Biology. And I would indeed like to work for a rural community in Nepal. I have taught orphans in school in the past in Nepal and I would like to use the skills and experiences that I will acquire here over the years to help Nepal in a small way.

I am glad that you realize that you can't blame the educational system of Nepal for the shortcomings of students because the same education system has produced people like Kul Chandra Gautam!

I completely agree that the value of your education can't be weighed with money. But it is a sad fact that your stipend does have a lot to do with the kind of educational institution you attend for a PhD. Better schools have more money and hence they can afford to offer a higher stipend. And I am not taking your stipend as a reflection of yourself. I barely mentioned that your stipend is an average stipend for PhD students in the field of Molecular Life Sciences and hence, you have done quite well!

You see Snowfed River, I do realize that I sort of sound rude but all I want you to comprehend is that when you argue, you should stay in context. You first started off dissing funkybuddha917 without realizing the topic and now you are straying off the argument by not addressing the topics we originally discussed. I hope you realize what I am trying to say!

I really honor your commitments towards Nepal though!!!
