Inorder for you to open the PayPal account (a working one), you'll have to give the detail of your bank (routine and the rest) and then they will deposit 2 randomly generated amount into your bank account. You'll have to fill PayPal's form with those number, only then PayPal is activated. Form there, you can add your credit card and always use it instead. Add as many card as you want.
So to have a working PayPal account, you do need your bank detail first.
