Former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said there is no need to
take up the resolution tabled by Unified CPN (Maoist) against President
Dr Ram Baran Yadav's move on the Army chief row for discussion at the
legislature parliament.
Speaking to reporters at the Tribhuvan
International Airport (TIA) Thursday prior to leaving for a week-long
tour of Europe with his wife Aarzoo, the senior NC leader said the
Maoists have clearly no reason to cry foul over the issue (President
reinstating Army chief) since 18 political parties (out of the total
24) having representation in the Constituent Assembly had jointly asked
President Yadav to overrule the Maoist government's decision to sack
the Army chief.
This was Deuba's first public remark after he
suffered a defeat at the hands of Ram Chandra Poudel in the election to
the post of NC Parliamentary Party leader.
While in Europe, Deuba is schedule to attend various programmes organised by non-resident Nepalis, Europe chapter.
