What information are tourists lacking about our country Nepal ?

I am going to write a few things that i feel the tourist are missing. first of all there are no valid information on the internet about nepal. if you do some research on different sites.....the information are not identical. the internet is the best source of information for developed nations and sadly our country lacks in the same infrastructure. Nepal Tourism Board website provides some good info but the ministry of tourism and civil aviation is USELESS!!!

one other big thing is...Hotel Association of Nepal HAN doesnt not even have a website to provide information about hotels in Nepal. if you want to find out a star rating of a hotel, some say its 3 and some say its a 4 star. so tourists dont know that if they are putting their money on the right hotel.

to have more tourists in nepal the air route should be viable. we should have ample number of national flag carriers or adequate numbers of private airlines serving the routes. advertising hasnt been done in a good manner as well. people from NTB and ministry go with their wives to participate in seminars and exhibitions to different countries but this has no substantial gain to the tourism industry in nepal. i dunno about how the advertising is done in europe for nepal, but as far as north america, i have never seen NTB advertise in travel magazines or travel n tourism channels. "you never get a second chance to make a first impression", the airport in Nepal needs a lot of work-physically as well as from human resource point of view.

i dont think volunteer teaching will increase the type of tourist that we need in nepal. in nepal we need tourists that can spend money who have disposable income. we get a lot of tourists in nepal from israel that are simply backpackers and stay in the cheapest accommodation possible which doesnt not help much. of course we need those kind of people as well but rather than focusing on quantity for visit nepal 2011 we need to focus on quality tourists. tourism is at the bottom of the pit right now in nepal and we are in dire need of quality spenders.

man i could go on and on on this tourism thing......really frustrated with the situation in nepal........and we all know well that the source of this problem is ........yes you guessed it right my friend.....POLITICS!!!

so anjeep, what makes you do this research??? are you a hospitality student??? what level of study u doin n where??....i just wish the situation of tourism in nepal was like that in 1998...i would leave everything here and go the the country where my heart is....
