Hello Raju!

This thread is about bringing a semblance of balance to this wholly lopsided debate thus far on General Khadka’s integrity. If people or the NA had or have evidence about why action should be taken against General Khadka, why did they not challenge the high command when he was being promoted to the No. 2 position or when he was made a Major General or when he was a Brigadier or even earlier? And what’s stopping them now? It’s strange how all this is coming out after May 09, isn’t it? As to whoever is supposed to have protected him, who are they and over what exactly? If we are really serious about this let’s have a dispassionate examination of the facts and evidence against him and eschew knee jerk reactions, innuendo, hearsay and hyperbole. In fact, who would have thought that even General Katuwal had anything against him as this man continued to be his deputy for well over 2 years, on occasions deputising from his as the acting COAS.

That brings me to the second point. Leaving aside the manner of his appointment, General Khadka was in a real position to do damage and could have done so even in the few hours that he was tentatively in charge. That he chose not to do so is definitely a mark of forbearance on this part and of the officers and men that were with him. Personally, I don’t care for the man, but that does not change the fact that he prevented the NA from getting into an internecine and destructive bloodbath, with a kick off right from Army HQ at Bhadrakali itself. As for Generals like Katuwal getting on their high horses – that’s just the point isn’t it?
