'India constructing dike in Dus Gaja area in Rautahat'

While the border problem in Dang and Susta stands unresolved the Indian side has been constructing a dam by 'encroaching' Nepali land in Rautahat district, a report said.

A team led by chief district officer of Rautahat, Kamalesh Kumar Sinha, has reported that the Indian side has been erecting a dike by encroaching the common border at Banjaraha and Aurahiya, Ujyaalo F.M said.

Quoting CDO Singha, the report said India has removed the border pillars on the no man's land, the 10-yard wide strip of land known as Dus Gaja, where reconstruction of dam is going on since one week. The dam which had been damaged in 2050 B.S is being reconstructed now.

Nepalis in at least half a dozen villages fear inundation due to the reconstructed dam.

Sinha also informed that the district administration would report to the government about his team's finding and also initiate negotiation with the Indian side to resolve the issue
