Nepal’s traditional arm twister neighbor in the South, India, has begun exploiting Nepal’s fluid political situation to its benefit.

While Nepal’s selfish political actors are involved in a never ending game of mud slinging at each other over the formation of the next government, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) have uprooted 103 Border Demarcation Pillars (Jungey Stambh) and taken the pillars under their control, along the Nepal India border in Bara District.

Border Pillar Numbers from 358/4 to 389/1 in Matiharwa, Basantapur, Southern Jhitkaiya, Badkai Fulbariya, Kabahigod Bagahi, Hardiya, Pakadiya, Beldari, Piparpati, Bisunpur, Armatgunj, Solagunj, and Kachorba VDCs of Bara have been gulped by the BSF.

Similarly, in Susta, the Indian BSF has begun threatening Nepali citizens, says Gopal Gurung of the Save Susta Campaign.
