If you are undergrad then going to Grad School would be better for you career and future. If not, apply for OPT and find volunteer job, even within your department will work. Talk to your academic adviser and international office about your situation.
To maintain your status:
1. You can go to graduate school.
2. You can join Kaplan GRE course.
3. You can join community college.
PS: In summer, you are not required to take any course. That means you
do not need to take any course to be in status during summer.What is your option??
