DHARAN, May 1 - About half-a-dozen organisations agitating for a separate Khumbuwan autonomous state in the eastern hill districts, on Friday formed a joint front, Kirat Khumbuwan Sanyukta Morcha.

A five-day gathering of theses organisations held in Dharan forged a joint front under the chairmanship of Naindra Sangam Khumbu who recently defected from Unified CPN (Maoist).

"Various like minded organisations have united to step up pressure on the government for the establishment of Khumbuwan autonomous state with the right to self-determination," said Rajan Khumbu, a member of the front.
