If he does not have loss of appetite/wt, doesn't feel tired even with minimal activity(easy fatiguability), and that bleeding you mentioned is just "streaks of blood" but not clot, then, it may not be too worriesome and can wait for few days to see how things go. Make sure he is not constipated. (people who do have constipation and strain alot for defecation, can have nose bleed from raised pressure during straining and have hemorrhoids which bleeds. Ask him to take rest, take plenty of fluids with lemon/orange, DONOT take medications like PAIN KILLERS which increase risk of bleeding ( If he is taking for joint pain- NO Motrine/aspirin).


Again assess what is the extent of bleeding and how is he otherwise. Even though, its not wise to wait till it gets worse, Can still wait, if otherwise no symptoms. And Try above mentioned things for a day or two based upon ur judgement.


Hope it's something simple and he will get better.
