one remedy to clean the rivers: direct the sewers to multiple industries that filter out poop from urine. process the urine, and use it in bathroom, irrigation, etc. process the poop, mix it with dead biota and make compost fertilizer. it is actually very easy  - all the developed countries do it.

why can't we?
