The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has alleged Shyamananda Suman, the advisor of foreign minister Upendra Yadav, of embezzling funds when he was the ambassador to Qatar.

The anti-graft body has asked him for clarification over misappropriation of fees collected for renewal of passports of Nepali migrant workers.

According to the CIAA, Suman was responsible for illegally raising QAR 50 (USD 181) as urgent charge for renewal of passports and embezzling the collected amount.

Likewise, the CIAA has also alleged him of embezzling funds raised from various organisations in the name of rescuing Nepalis stranded in Qatar.
