3 Major difference between Great Depression of 30s and current recession ( read as depression) that will help to make this recession shorter thought the impact is huge;

1. Federal government did little intervention or non at all to control market till recession was converted into a depression.

2. There was no collective Global effort to control the turmoil.

3. The economic gap between developed and under developed country was huge. Developed countries were the victim of recession at large and were left to correct it (which they did not do). The continued growth in countries like India, China and Brazil currently will help to control the recession to convert into depression.
