Malaysian Muslims Outlaw Lesbianism

Malaysia’s National Fatwa Council issued a ‘tomboy’ fatwah banning girls form having short hair and dressing like boys this week, in a move intended to deter girls from experimenting with lesbianism.

"It is unacceptable to see women who love the male lifestyle including dressing in the clothes men wear, said Abdul Shukor Husin, chairman of the National Fatwa Council, “It becomes clearer when they start to have sex with someone of the same gender, that is woman and woman.” (Sky News)

Perak State’s mufti Harussani Idris Zakaria admitted that the new decree is not yet legally binding though was uncompromising with his message.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s a law or not. When it’s wrong, it’s wrong. It is a sin,” Harussani told reporters. “Tomboy [behavior] is forbidden in Islam.” (Taipei Times).

Meanwhile in Russian, iconic lipstick lesbian duo Tatu said they still ‘sometimes get drunk and kiss each other’ though admitted both moved on to heterosexual relationships (singer Yulia Volkova is now a mother of two).

The refreshingly open minded couple stressed, however, that they actively continue to support gay rights, despite being terrorized by thugs when attending Moscow’s banned Gay Pride Parade last year.

"They nearly killed us. They said we'd go to hell and chased us to the car – we were shaking all over,” Yulia told the Independent,

“It's a very confusing situation in Russia. Gays are such friendly, positive people; they're much more positive than normal people,” she added.

Back in Malaysia, 21 year old R. Prabakaran was this week facing up to three years in jail and a public whipping after he appeared in court on charges of trying to harm a neighbour with ‘deadly weapons’: four centipedes.

Mr Prabakaran is accused of putting four poisonous centipedes and undisclosed bugs in the bed of K. Rajama, 30, following a dispute.

Infestation company PestProducts.com describes centipedes as reasonably passive creatures with centipede sting deaths ‘reportedly rare.

However, “waking up to the painful sting of a centipede is as almost as frightening as it is painful,” they warn.

“Numerous people have compared the sensation to being burned by a lit cigar are being stung by a large hornet,” said PestProducts.

What's the Best Way to Learn Patience?
