St. Xaviers School closed indefinitely

I have seen instances of where private institutions are held hostage by unlawful strikes and ridiculous demands. Butwal (or was it Pokhara) was completely closed, many new projects are stalled because of this. In several cases, the union leaders are flexing their muscle to demand a good payout for them and their party.

But in this case, until I see the case made by both group, I have to give the benefit of the doubt to the striking party. The news states:

The school was closed after Intitutional School Teachers' Union (ISTCHU), St. Xaviers' Unit started protest demanding salary hike, a pension fund and teacher's representation in the school management. The unit has said the management closed the school without any dialouge with them.”

What’s wrong with this strike? Isn’t it the inherent right of the union and so far the demand doesn’t look absurdly illogical.
