Susta folks block road

PARASI, Sept 29 - Residents of Susta in Nawalparasi have blocked the East-West Highway at Bardghat of the district for an indefinite period demanding immediate solution to land encroachment by the Indian side at Susta.
Saying that their demands were ignored time and again, the Susta residents said they were forced to resort to highway blockade to press the government to make initiative to get back over 14,000 hectares of land encroached by India.
President of the Save Susta Campaign Gopal Gurung said they took to the streets after no initiative was taken to resolve the problem even as they submitted memorandum to the Prime Minister and the President time and again.
Around 200 Susta residents have camped on the highway demanding the government to take solid measures to control the excesses by the Indian side.
