Its all about perception, at one end martyrs gave us an identity today. for eg if there were no martyrs we might not have been what we are proud of today. On the other hand I agree with the qoute of  G n R " there's nothing civil about war" martyrs are the results of war ,we call them martyrs because it was for our cause they died for, now the same guy can be called by some derogatroy name by the institution he fought against, the problem is now to analyze whose cause was better ours or theirs.
