Yes, many people died (got killed) during the 'People's War'. But not all of them were killed by the Maoists. Nepal army and police killed so many innocent people too branding them as 'terrorists'. And the government was led by NC for the most part during that period. Sometimes UML and RPP also were in key positions to mobilize the army and police. In that context, all the political parties who were in the government during that period also have blood in their hands. It is also not true Maoists killed 15 K; total death toll was reported to be around 13 K during the insurgency including both from the insurgents and the government forces. Why only blame the Maoists only? All the political parties are to be blamed. If the king had abdicated his throne, there would never have been a violent People's War in Nepal to begin with. I am not saying all the problems could be solved by dethroning him (it already is evident Nepal is plagued with more problems), but aboliton of monarchy is definitely a good move. Since it is a transition period, there are gonna be problems. U can't say there were no problems before Maoists led the government, can u? Yeah load shedding was not nowhere close to where it is, but this one cannot be attributed to the Maoists coming to power at all. Koshi dam was (is) mainly responsible for that. As for so called Kathmanduites, who gives a damn? We could care less. Let the facts speak.
