as a kin of gurkhas i should mention that gurkhas marches with insignia of crossed khukuri representing national n indegenous weapon of nepal. not to forget the remittance that comes in huge amount. thier welfare offices situated in various part of nepal does many social works around nepal giving first prioirty to veterans, it also compensates the medical bills to some percentage incurred in any hospitals. they hav built many schools' infrastructure which r now run by gov includeing blind schools. they hav built community town halls for social functions. they hav built drinking water taps around villages. nepal's first ever election after rana regime fell was made more ease by the help of Queens Gurkhas Signal's technical suport in communication. theres a huge statue of a gurkha in middle of the london n inside indian parliamaent premises citing them to b from nepal n praising their valour n loyalty. and above all it sure has increased the living standard of the communities involved in gurkha tradition. about the pensions and other benefits, they can still live a quality life in nepal without working. gurkha officers pensions surpass our prime ministers salary by far. i dont think that makes them any inferrior because they r paid less than thier british counterparts but their salary r similar while in service.

so dude, does not mater if u respect thier deeds or not, but the world that knows them do. at least they arnt killing thier own fellow nepalese brothers...
