Dear friends,

Please accept my apology for the concluding part of “Shirshak je pani huna sakcha.”

Actually, the story evolves around the psychological paradigm, a defense mechanism called “repression”. The protagonist of the story, “U” has been trying hard to exclude his hatred feelings from his consciousness and holding them in the unconsciousness. So, he was trying to get close to his eloped wife as far as possible to deal with his own insecure confidence to lead a normal love life. As he finds his eloped wife back to his life, in a body and a mind, his subdued feelings starts to show up, then he realizes he cannot love her any more.

I could not give an appropriate title, though I thought of some for few months and they were misleading the core meaning of the story and more gender biased. The story is not about a man and a woman, or a husband and a wife; it is about an inability to face the real mental conflicts within oneself. As you know, “U” was obsessive for eloped wife from the beginning of the story which is not so natural and acceptable in normal life situation, his inability to move on indicates his own shortcomings to face the challenges in the upcoming days.

Having said all these, the main characters are justified according to their virtue and vice at the end. No matter what reasons Sakshi presents in her defense, she did betray her husband. So, she deserves the punishment as per literary device called poetic justice.

Thank you for your support and cooperation!

Warm regards,
