Please forgive former king Gyanendra

I remember when Gyandendra sacked Deuba for the second time and ruled under the state of emergency, I could not even talk to my family for weeks (no internet, no telephone). You think it was okay for us? There were lots of worse karmas of Gyanendra, but wasn't that sufficient for us why we hated Gyanendra's rule and why we felt that monarchy was not the solution for the country's problems?

I think having Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, a commoner, as the head of the state is a matter of pride for each of us as compared to if Gynendra were still the head of the state who had "mai lau, mai khau, sukha-shayal moj mai garu" mentality. Dr. Yadav is a better symbol and stronger force of national unity and integrity compared to if Gyandendra was still there in our culturally and ethnically diverse societies where many groups felt marginalized in the past.

Abolishing monarchy was one of the only few good things Seven Parties did in the past I guess. Now we have to move forward, not backward.
