Can i work part time using my SSN elsewhere while I am on H-1? I am scared as I am going to transfer my H-1 to another  consultancy and it might be a good two months before i get a job. So I need to work due to obvious financial reasons. I can't seem to find any cash jobs and as a matter of fact I dont even know how to go about it. I am in NYC and I am only looking to work evenings or weekends for cash. Does anyone know of any agency that can help place people who dont want to use their SSN? Also, what are the complications that might arise if I do work with my SSN?
