Yes, Shiva Ji, that’s the case. Maoist leadership has done severe misguiding to their cadres feeding a lot of BS and it is to be seen how they are going to handle the shocked and disillusioned cadres once they start to encounter the reality.

As for “people’s republic”, I have said it many times that even Prachanda and Baburam themselves do not know what the hell it is. Did you listen to Mahara’s interview on BBC yesterday ? Mahara’s answer regarding PR was that it will have all the things (fundamental rights, political freedom, multiparty competition and so on) of liberal democracy and more but they have not figured out yet what that more is. His own word was “हामी नयाँ मोडालिटी (मोडेल ?) खोज्दैछौं” ।

Maoist leadership has now decided to launch a nationwide debate/discussion among their cadres on the issue of PR.

I think It is a good thing. Finally, Maoist cadres are going to find out the real thing and hopefully quietly settle down with the limits of bourgeois democracy they were taught not to believe in.

I keep telling my Maoist friends that no matter how hard Maoist ideologues try, they are only going to re-discover the bourgeois democracy.
