A quick note on the data and the questions raised. The data is there for everybody to interpret and scrutinize.

 

I believe and I have seen that even after all kinds of corrections, available data indicate that the living standard of Nepalis have increased and not decreased.

 

You could feel that very easily if you visit a few villages, towns and cities of Nepal. I have.

 

For those who don’t believe that Nepal has made some progress and not gone downhill, here is UNDP's data on Human Development Index (HDI) of Nepal.

 

Compare 1995, 2000 and 2005.
