I am planning to buy Nokia N95-4. I am little confused about the GPS it has.

Can this phone be used with a pay to go chip and still use gps with no internet connection. Like on a car you use a gps not connecting to the internet but directly to the satillite. What about this phone? Does it connect directly or it needs some monthly subscriptions??
