It depends on who the friend is. It is never cheaper to take two girls to watch movie at once. It might look cheaper in a short run when you calculate cost of tickets and pop corn only, but when you are thinking of benefits, you should be thinking of all benefits that going movies together with a girl can offer in future, so in a long run when you evaluate the cost-benefit, you will learn that it would be cheaper if you had taken one girl at a time to watch the movie.
