Dear friends,

As you know, there have been countrywide expressions of dissent against the newly elected Vice President, Parmananda Jha, for taking oath of his post and secrecy in Indian (Hindi) language during the President and Vice-Presidential oath-taking function on last Wednesday. Over 48 hours of being sworn in as republic of Nepal’s first vice president, former judge Parmanand Jha found himself at the centre of a controversy when he took the oath of office in Hindi, triggering widespread protests.

We are compaigning the petition
against the legal norms of the interim constitution, has urged the Supreme Court to issue an order to nullify the vice-president’s post unless he retakes the oath in the national language.

To make it easy for them to take action on this matter, a petition is prepared and attached here through a web link. This petition needs to be signed by as many of us as possible and as quickly as we can. Please follow the link below to view the petition and sign it. The petition will then be submitted to the Embassy of Nepal with in few days.
