In my class there is a significant number of people from different countries and when government teacher asked all the students about our country's history I was proud to say that was never occupied by any foreign nation (and she is the only country that was never occupied). The teacher was more surprised to learn that we were able to hold the British  at the borders (well with a  disappointing treaty at the end though) when giant India and many others failed. I believe that Nepali Janata then were so much loyal to Nepal and Monarchy that they stood before mighty cannons risking their lives with bare Gurkha Knives. Now the case is different.
If US or Britain offers citizenship to the CA leaders they will certainly go for it even if they have to sell Nepal or sign treaty not favorable to Nepal. King was the only person in Nepal who would have said that if there is Nepal then only I will be King of Nepal. Gyanendra left the palace hashi-khusi. He is still happy to live in Nepal (His son is a bad fruit which we all know and this doesn't apply to him) How many of Us can say that they would be Nepalese even if they get offers from rich countries to be citizen , well at least I can't and I think many of US cant say that. Nepal has always been united and the symbol of unity was the king and we believed more in our traditions than any other tempting ideologies. Now that we got rid of our Monarchy to get rid of Gyanendra and his evil son Parase...the institution is gone forever. The worst of all we Nepalese living in foreign land lost our right to vote. Well i would like to say in that way because there was no system for people like me to vote and i have heard that somebody had already voted in my name and my brothers name since we are away from Nepal. Now the  pride of being a Nepali has faded away because of recent events. Its very sad that Our Beautiful Terai is on the verse of division. मेरा आँखा रासये  when I first heard from a friend that they got rid of Monarchy . I was grown up in a kingdom and now If i go back its a Republic. I am not pro-Gyanendra but i am pro-monarchy.
We lived through history now and we have a story to tell to our kids and grand-kids. I hope its not the story of sadness. I hope Monarchy prevails like in Spain. (forgive my english :  नेपाली हू)
 जये नेपाल ।
