Hi Cleo

At the risk of sounding like an arugula-eating elitist, I am not as surprised by the fact the King has attendants and others who help him put on his shoes and probably his clothes  but I am unnerved by the fact that in this day and age, when we have have just gone through the most turbulent moments in our history, this sort of tradition has not been broken. And that too in public! The whole idea is wrong in principle. The practice sure disturbs me but the mindset behind it, whether it be of reverence or servitude - we might disagree on which one -  is what I feel contributed in large part to the demise of the Monarchy in Nepal.

There is a time and place for everything. The time for this sort of a thing, should never have been, but sadly it was for many year but now it has clearly passed.

Just my thoughts - feel free to disagree.
