It is about time Nepal had a new identity. Time to let go of romanticized and emotional bonds with monarchy/religion/history etc. It would be really nice if Buddha was still around.

More important than national identity is one's individual indentity. If everytime we have to go somewhere and say 'I am from Nepal... do you know Mt. Everest?.. the tallest...?  ' That, my friend, will not take us very far.
