Personally, I would recommend Fuji F30 and 31 but I think there is no way you can get hold of these two models anymore. If your demand from camera is not as high as mine, you can go for any brand. If you prefer to be on the safe side, going for Sony, Canon, and Nikon would be a wise choice.

And last but not least, forget about the mega pixel stamp on the camera- these mega pixel size is used to lure idiots !
