yes you don't have to do anything that is my understanding but please double check with your DSO. Also, since you applied for H1 if you don't get approved you will not get 17 month extension. Hope you get yours approved.

If that falls under STEM (business sys anlyst) then go for it. USCIS will have to accept whatever the DSO says.
