Nepal: NC remembers Nationalism after defeat
TGW
The
vice President of the Nepali Congress Party and the incumbent minister
for peace and reconstruction, Mr. Ram Chandra Poudel talking to the
press in the district of Tanahu, yesterday April 13, 2004, said that
the NC will not allow guns to prevail at time of the drafting of the
constitution.
Mr. Poudel pointing at the Maoists said, “If some one dared to do so, we will wipe them out within three months”.
Mr. Poudel is among very few NC stalwarts who have won the election.
“We
do not want further authoritarianism in the constitution that we are
yet to draft”, he said adding, “We will resort to protest and expose
such ideas”.
“The NC will not compromise any efforts minimizing the national integrity and nationalism”, Poudel concluded.
Perhaps
this is the first time a NC leader talks of National Integrity and
Nationalism and that too after embracing shameful defeat in the CA
poll.
