Having seen one of the elections from very close, I literally lost my faith in electorial processes. People literally for vote a hundred rupee and if some one offers more they change their mind. The voters openly bargain. Well that's our bitter truth.

I keep remembering Mahathir Mohd who said "What is the use of that democracy where people do not have bread and butter". But that does not mean that I should not support the democratic process of voting.

I will be amazed if there were no barrels used to force/ coerce /scare tactics used to the voters to vote for them.

But now, it is no time to complain like this. Election is a dirty process. One of the most democratic country like US experience such dirty tricks. Thats the nature of election.

On top of that, our smart Prachanda demanded that the fairness of the election to be announced right after voting before any results are announced. All the international observers did express their satisfaction and happiness over "how fair was the election".

On other note, the Govt. (and Dr. Mahat is a part of it) is to provide security to the election officers, polling booths and the candidates. If Dr. Mahat gets attacked like that, it is the weakness of his Govt. to provide security to the candidates.

The biased media is also to blame for they did not report much when Khum Bahadur Khadka's campaign shot dead seven Maoists.

Was that unfortunate ? YES.

Were such thing bound to happen ? Sure - its a part of process.
