Nationalization of property is not Communist or Socialist Agenda. The Nationalization or not depends on the need of the time, rather than based on any ideology. I am not advocating any sorts of nationalisation here; it can be done in Nepal even today if the situation demands. rather than from the ideology point of view, nationalisation should be taken from the economic need of any state.

This can be done by any government irrespective of from which ideology it comes. Certainly, Congress in India is not any communist but it is guided by the principle of socialism as enshrined in Indian Constitution's preamble. If our Constitution makers decide to make Nepal a socialist state, Nationalisation of property is not a new thing. Even in Capitalistic state, nationalisation for public good/interests is always justified.

India did not be any superpower within a night. In India, still many many people are poor and if various measures taken by Smt. Indira Gandhi were not taken way back in 1970s, India's economy would be so dismal even today. Smt Gandhi reduced the gap between prices and pauper and focussed on fair distribution of wealth incorporating various economic policies. That made the foundation to open Economy after 1990.

In Nepal, there should be the mixed economy-open market, Free Enterprises and Possession of Private Property. I do not think New Govt will deviate from these priciples but when required, Nationalisation can be a good option, undoubtedly!
