When I got a job in a company over here they did a background check for me, I think especially it was basically with my previous employer and they did it with in a week.
As my previous employer later called me and confirmed me that someone from US has called them and asked them about my employment history.

I don't know they called in police department for background check or not??
And I had submitted my employer full address and phone and fax number
