Nepesahila,

First off, interesting note on the malady of Nepali politics. Absence of meritocracy is certainly the malady of our beloved nation. However, I think it is more of a symptom than the disease itself.

I think the unrooted culture of ‘it’s not the merit but the status that counts and that’s that’, call it a monarchical psychology, was the disease. And you know what, it was mostly the illiterate goons (chappal-wearing, uneducated and brick throwing class that did the April revolution) that somehow (miracle ?) found and hit at the heart of the disease.

It is for future to show whether this revolution is going to cure the disease or just replace one with the other. However, the old Gorkhe utopia of the constitutional monarchy or whatever never had a chance. The reason is clear. All institutions were constitutional, but some institutions were more constitutional than others !

It might or might not be relevant in this thread, but since you brought the issue of living in a free country and learning a thing or two about freedom and whatever good things are here, it was interesting for me to note that almost all intellectuals living in this land of wisdom had almost a religious faith in the Gorkhe utopia of the constitutional monarchy.

I have never been able to connect the dots between learning freedom in the land of wisdom and advocating for monarchy for the land of the illiterates.

Never mind.

Back to the original issue. I am not interested to stretch the discussion. However, I think I should answer to some of your reasonable questions.

First of all, I would like to state that I did what I did fully knowing what it was and what the cost could be to myself. So it was not an inadvertent but a thought out stupidity or whatever you might want to characterize.

In my judgment, Bathroom needed to be stopped. He was too much.

And this was the only way left at my disposal.

Yes, I chose the method. But it was also Bathroom’s choice in a negative way.

I had given him enough time and choice between mending his way or facing this measure.

So, in effect, it was our mutual choice.

I do have ego, may be too much. However, I don’t mind to apologize where I should.

But since Bathroom started all this and now he is the victim, I would like to hear his case and demand from the man himself.

If there is none, I am done with this case. I acknowledge that this was unethical. However, my story is that I was willing to take this stain in order to put an end to the madness of Bathroom going on in whatever pretext and excuse over the years.

Feel free to judge me.

Nepe
