What's the Best Way to Quit a Bad Habit? "The best way I know to quit a so-called bad habit is to take a few moments concentrating on breathing in and out, meditating if you like.

As you exhale, tell yourself you're releasing the essence of everything and everyone that needs to be set free and as you inhale, tell yourself you're drawing in the essence of everything and everyone you need to succeed.

Keep doing this each day and gradually you'll notice unhealthy habits starting to fall away by themselves, along with the people whose presence no longer serves your best interests, without you having to make any effort about it or without you having to decide which habits are unhealthy or not.

Because while you may think you know which is which, in reality it's a much more complex affair. Smoking, for example may have harmful effects but may be just what you need to prevent you getting habituated to something even worse. So coming at it this way, you allow your higher self to decide what's best."
