Dear all,

Namaskar!

Quick tips for H1b filing candidates.. (Pls. correct/advise if not correctly stated)

To qualify for H1b visa approval, candidates must have:

1. Four years of
bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science field from overseas or US institution.

2. Two years of professional work experience including proven employment certificate.

3. Applicant must possess intermediate to advance skills in any of the following SDLC environments:
Java, .Net, PHP, VB, Perl,
Oracle, C#, C, C++, SAP, Data-warehousing, QA, Business/Systems Analyst, Project Management etc.
(I guess this post only pertains to IT H1bs)

4. The candidate must not file two
H1b visas simultaneously two companies as its violates USCIS policy. Or, candidate may receive a letter from USCIS.

Hope this would be helpful if anyone is planning to apply from overseas. This is one link
http://click.here where \"only\" highly experienced IT workers are sponsored. They sponsor Masters IT candates w. experience (w/o a cost to the applicant) but very little seats open for undergrad candidates w. experience (almost less than 10 seats).

For all the students/workers who hold Masters degree from US institution, there is a high chance you will meet the quota. Last year, the quota lasted for about a month or so. (If not mistaken)

For undergrad students, or candidates applying from undergard quota (i.e. foreign
bachelors degree holders), it is estimated the number of applications that will be received this year will exceed 160,000.

Pls. advise if this is a roumer.. or not.. and I don't know how reliable the source of this statement is honestly.. however, its been said if candidates file for premium processing "extra 1K to the USCIS on the filing fee", there may be greater chances of getting approval. Once again, do not know how valid this information is so don't trust on it.

Important dates:

Apr 1st

: H1b visa application acceptance date by the USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Service)

May 15th

: By this date, H1b visa applicants would have received a Lynn number if their petition meet the H1b quota.

: If applicant's H1b visa petition was not selected, USCIS will inform applicants accordingly.

Oct 1st

: H1b visa holders can start working for their employer in the USA.

Hope this would help & good luck!

Warm regards.
