Yes, but I guess this is to be expected in when someone's  living away from family and friends. Plus in this day and age, computers, TVs and video games have become the norm and tend to hypnotize individuals in their own realm.  I barely speak to anyone these days in person, I probably communicate with more people via the internet. This is natural, happens to everybody.
