If you're in Nepal, then forget about applying because retro-wait is so long... almost 5 years that literally employers are not willing to go ahead with sponsorship at all.

However; if you're US graduate, then atleast hospital will be able to get you work permit, travel doc etc but then GC is still a waiting game. Hoping this helps you.

Since Nurse GC is does not go through normal H1-B process, and is not charged against any kind of VISA, its simply a waiting-Game. From above link, see table, and look at the date 2A (15MAR03); and currently we're in 2008, 5 year lead.

Again, if you're in US, ask your employer to go through H1-B, you will get your GC sooner, but then if you're marrried your spouse won't get to do anything until I-485 process. Where as going directly to GC with I-140 will give Work-permit and everything to your spouse too.
