hi whois,
thanks a lottt for your kind reponses. here, i'm not just to show off..or something. I got a problem and as syanjali said everyone here in sajha who post some thread has some problem and always expect to get some solution through this internet. i also did that. actually this was my laptop's problem. and according to your words, there could be 1000000...reasons..yesss..and the reason i found was the LAN driver proplem. i've 2 lan cards and whenever i install..it autometically read the LAN which i don't need and from where internet is not working. so later i downloaded some files called "chipset" (no idea) from "hp.com" and install that again. then it started to work........thank you very much once again.

spoiled,
QUOTED"you dont have the modem or ethernet driver installed try looking for it"

YES!! this was the problem. thanks spoiled.

NayaSadak,
QUOTED "re-installing xp"
I gave a thought on it. However, I found the solution. Thanks for your post.

syanjali,
QUOTED "IP address is recognized automatically after downloading the network driver??
It was recognized but as I said....that the LAN driver was not being read by the computer.

QUOTED"So, there must be a solution, unless computer itself has problem"
Yes, there MUST be a solution. And there was a solution. Computer was ok. thanks for your answers.

suike,

QUOTED "Dude daum,
u still got that problem or u fixed it?
write back if you still need help.

short answer - u don't really need to configure your network settings while installing windows, just skip those options and change network settings once u are done with installation.

I had never heard about this "essential" version of XP though. Whered u get it?"

Hey dude,
I fixed the problem. I've already mentioned the how i solve the problem. I also never heard of this essential but found it through my friend. The style is of VISTA. but the screens do not move like in vista (above's youtube vids by whois)...just the icons and functions...all are same as of vista...just few features missing....It's a kind of clone of VISTA and XP. FYI, This ver. came on April 2007.

THANK YOU ALL Sajha Computer Gurus.
