It's one of my best songs.

The song was insipired by Syd Barret, the founding member of the Pink Floyd band. His life had been miserable by the use of drugs and had gone for solitary confinement. Concerned Roger Waters and David Gilmour composed this song.

Watch the movie " The wall" which is rumored to be loosely based upon the Syd's life then. Sadly, Syd died in 2006.
