Tendulkar - What a Batsman!

Statistics are like girls underwear. They reveal what is beautiful but hide what is important.

Underneath the statistics of sachin tendulkar lies mostly innings of non substance. An average bloated by not outs and many innings lacking in substance. I am still to see an innings like 153* by Brian Lara in Bridgetown to win test match by 1 wicket or 281 by VVS laxman to win against australia after following on. I wont blame tendulkar fans to get overboard with this momentary run of form. Because this has come after ages. Otherwise there would have been on need of this thread in sajha.com.  Ricky ponting have dominated the cricketing world for last 5 years and he still rules despite his momentary faliure in this series. Where were you guys all these years where tendulkar played no where as he is playing in this series in last don't know how many years. He wasn't even in top 20 best batsman in the ratings.  He still isnt in the list of top 10.

To say him best batsman simply because he have played 100's of matches is a joke. Dont even want to put him in a same league as Sobers, Richards, George Headley, Everton Weeks, Walcott or Greame Pollock . As lara once said after breaking Allan Borders record of maximum test runs that  he doesnot value such record because any good batsman would overhaul  these record  and make 11-12000 runs if they play same number of matches and won't value it as important as his 400 runs of 500 runs.

Anyway you can enjoy yoru momentary sucess because even a lamp about to extinsguish gives a lot of light. Unless he plays consistantly well for coming 6-7 test series I wont buy anybody's worD.

Aussie rule, ponting rule, hayden rule.   India loses sachin makes runs indian people become happy.
