Dear Aish,

                This is really hilarious. It's such a simple solution and people are suggesting such a complex procedures.  All you need to do is check weather your microphone work or not in the first place (since they cant hear what you are saying?). Here is what you do to check your microphone.

Start--->All programs------>Accessories------>Entertainment----->Sound recorder
(if you are using windows)

Press the red button to record something (say "hyalo hyalo") and then click pause. And now click the play button. If you hear your voice then yeah your microphone is good and it's working.

Now if your people back home cant hear you that means they are using slower connection. You would only be able to communicate clearly in PC-PC conversation if you have they are connecting with higher speed. Call during the off peak hours. Usually Google talk is far better then MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger.

Best wishes,
YekloYatri
